Blended learning: facilitated or self-paced

Blended learning is a unique and seamless learning experience that consists of a combination of modalities. Modalities refer to the timing of interaction and the location of the interaction.

Seamless: this refers to the flow of the experience. To ensure learners engage with a seamless learning experience, there needs to be a clear and logical flow to the content and activities within the modalities that you add as part of your blended learning experience.
Timing of interactions: this refers to the time of interactions. Do learners engage with the experience on their own and in their own time, also referred to as asynchronous? Or, do learners engage with the experience in real-time, also known as synchronous?
Location of interactions: this refers to the location. Do learners engage online? Do learners engage face to face? Or, do some learners engage online and some learners engage face to face, also referred to a hybrid?

Interactive resources: infographics, playbooks, guides

Interactive resources are short, engaging digital assets that aim to support any learning experience and act as visual aid and take-aways for learners. Examples of this could be facilitator guides, user manuals, webinar playbooks, learning design playbooks, etc.

Micro-learning: learning on the go

Micro-learning experiences are bite-sized, digital, self-paced, easy to navigate and relevant nuggets of content and learning activities. They are designed as learning-on-the go and can experienced with your tablet, phone or desktop.

Online courses: facilitated or self-paced

Online courses are more comprehensive digital learning experiences that can be self-paced (like MOOCs) or facilitated with a qualified trainer.

Podcasts

Podcasts are audio playlists that are designed on a specific topic or a range of topics.

Training of Trainers (ToT): building staff capacity

Training of Trainers are learning experiences that are designed for trainers and staff responsible for delivering informal training.

ToT aim to:

build capacity on a specific subject matter
build capacity on immersive techniques and strategies to deliver the subject matter

To deliver ToT programmes, we partner with subject matter experts in the design and delivery of the learning experience.

Webinars and webinar series

Webinars are short, digital meetings or conferences delivered through a webinar platform, like Zoom, GoToMeeting, WebEx, Teams, etc. Webinar series are a series of webinars organised, designed and delivered a common theme and offered times.
